Requiem For The Ex

Posted on September 7, 2014July 25, 2017 by Mpho Matsitle

I forgot that sometimes
Some nights
Some monster
Inconsiderately
Sneaks up your nostrils
And plays bouncer to the oxygen

I also realize that I forgot
The color of your sneeze
The melody of your snore
And the texture of your cough

Though I can’t seem to remember
I do painfully miss
The music you eyes made
When they found me staring,
Along with the morning rays,
At your beautiful sleeping face

But one thing I can never forget
Is my endless love for you
